In the clear light of a post-Oscar Monday buy cheap runescape gold morning, at least two themes had
emerged. The first: British royalty reigns — again! And the second: Bring back
the comedians! Maybe it was inevitable that on such a predictable Oscar night
— the acting awards and even the best picture win for "The King's Speech" were
widely anticipated — attention would focus on the show itself, especially the
hosting. And many did see the charm in hosts Anne Hathaway and James Franco,
for whom the adjectives "young" and "hip" seemed to become part of their very
names during the run-up to the Oscars — especially in their clever
"Inception"-inspired opening montage. But Oscar producers must have known
their telecast was running into trouble when the night's biggest laughs went not
to the newly minted hosts but to former host Billy Crystal — and even to the
vintage clip he presented of the dear departed Bob Hope, with classic Oscar
jokes that never grow old. And it wasn't lost on some that even the hosts'
best bit, the montage in which they inserted themselves into nominated films,
harked runescape powerleveling back to Crystal's own introductory
gags during his eight years as host. No wonder Hathaway seemed so admiring of
Crystal when he showed up. Not as much as the crowd, though — it leaped to its
feet even before he said a word. "So, where was I?" he quipped. So did the
Academy, in its zeal to reach a younger demographic, overreach? And do the
Oscars need a single, solid comedian to hold the night together? That was
certainly the case many were making online. "It looks as if the Academy will
have to give the hosting honors to Ricky Gervais next year," wrote Toby Young on
the website of the Daily Telegraph of London. "It's the only way to save the
Oscars from certain death." On Slate.com, a headline said the decidedly
laid-back Franco "Might Have Been Reluctantly Emceeing a Distant Cousin's Bat
Mitzvah." And comic Andy Borowitz tweeted during the show: "This is riveting
powerleveling rs television. By the way, I'm watching the
Knicks and the Heat now." Jamie Masada, co-owner of the Laugh Factory comedy
club in Hollywood, watched the show with a group of comics including Dave
Chapelle. "It got boring very quickly," he said — until Crystal came on. They
all applauded. "Finally somebody great! He was wonderful," Masada said in a
phone interview just after the show. The Oscars, he argued, need a comedian,
full stop. "A comedian keeps you connected all evening long," he said. "You wait
to see what he or she is going to say about what's happening. It gives the show
heart." Masada said he especially enjoyed laughing at Hope's famous joke, in
a clip introduced by Crystal Sunday, about the Oscars, "or, as they're known at
my house, Passover." So did film historian Leonard Maltin, who calls it "one of
the greatest jokes ever written." But you don't have to be a comic to make a
great host, or deliver a classic quip. Actor David Niven will long be remembered
for runescape gold his
stellar response to the streaker who sped by him in 1974: "Isn't it fascinating
to think," Niven noted drily, "that probably the only laugh that man will ever
get in his life is by stripping off and showing his shortcomings?" Likewise,
actor Alec Baldwin was a hit when he hosted alongside Steve Martin last year, as
he was in Sunday's opening montage. As Franco and Hathaway tried to figure out
whose dream they had invaded, "Inception"-like, Baldwin assured them it wasn't
his. "If this were my dream," he said, "I'd be hosting the Oscars again." (From
Baldwin's dream to producers' ears?) You can also be a popular comic and bomb
at the Oscars — David Letterman has made a running joke about the bad reviews he
got for his one Oscar gig. The comic best known for his yeoman Oscar duties
was Hope, who hosted the first of his 18 shows (not consecutive) in 1940, and
the first televised show in 1953. Others included Johnny Carson, of course,
Whoopi Goldberg, Jon Stewart, Chris Rock, and rs gold Ellen DeGeneres. "Standup comedians do know how to
handle a room," said Jonathan Kuntz, a professor of film and Hollywood history
at the University of California, Los Angeles. "They know how to handle all kinds
of situations. They seem so much more confident." This year's hosts,
according to Kuntz, were not terrible and not great — just OK. "They did look
like they were reciting lines," he said. "They didn't provide any classic
moments." But maybe that's a little much to ask. After all, the Oscars are a
key marketing vehicle for Hollywood. "And Hollywood's core audience is younger
people," Kuntz says. So the hosts were chosen to appeal to that
demographic. It's not clear yet how they fared — an estimated 37.6 million
viewers watched this year, down nearly 10 percent from 2010 (but up from 2008
and 2009). Preliminary Nielsen ratings said that numbers in the
18-to-49-year-old demographic were down only 2 percent Kuntz says it's not as
easy as assuming that a comic would be better. With all the comics who have
hosted, he says, the next great host has not been found. "They haven't found
a Bob Hope or a Billy Crystal for the 21st century yet," he says. "You just
never know until runescape
money they try it. You just have to throw them out there and see what
happens."

Many people talk about how reading runescape gold
books can expand your knowledge and improve your life. There’s nothing
wrong with that, of course. Reading books is indeed good. But there is
one aspect of it that many people tend to forget: the value of
rereading books.
I believe that not only should you read books you’ve never read, but
also you should reread books you’ve already read. In fact, I’d argue
that rereading books is just as important as reading new ones.
Why You Should Reread Books
Here are some reasons why rereading books is good:
1. It reminds you of the good ideas
Research shows that in just 24 hours people would forget most of what
they’ve read. You might get a lot of good ideas from a book, but it’s
easy to forget most of them. Rereading a book helps you refresh those
ideas in your mind.
2. It helps you notice the ideas you didn’t notice rs gold before
Just as it’s easy to forget ideas, it’s also easy to have some ideas
skip your attention when you first read a book. Rereading the book
helps you notice them.
3. It gives you a new perspective
Rereading a book allows you to see it with fresh eyes. The ideas that
didn’t make sense before could now make sense. The things that didn’t
matter before could now be connected to your experience.
4. It helps you apply the ideas
This, in my opinion, is the most important reason of all. Why? Because
the primary value of reading is the application and not the reading
itself. Mere reading could expand your knowledge but application could
change your life. By rereading a book, you can see which parts of it you
have applied and which parts haven’t. You runescape money can then focus your effort on the parts that need more work.
How to Reread Books
Now that you’ve seen the why, let’s see the how. Here are some tips on rereading books:
1. Choose the right books
Just as not all books are worth reading, so are not all books worth
rereading. Don’t just reread any book. Read only those that can give you
the most value for your time. One good way to filter them is by
finding those that you want to apply. The more you want to apply a
book, the more important it is to reread.
2. Read only the important parts
You don’t need to reread the entire book. That will take too much runescape items
time. Besides, you might get lost in the details. Instead, apply the
80-20 rule and read only the important parts of the book. This is one
reason why you should highlight the good parts of a book when you first
read it. By doing so, you can read just those parts when you reread
it.
3. Look for actionable ideas
Since the primary value of reading is the application, you should look
for actionable ideas when you reread a book. Perhaps you didn’t
recognize some of them when you first read it. Or perhaps you already
forget some of them. In either case, look for ideas that you can use to
improve your life.
4. Focus your effort
Since there are potentially many actionable ideas, you should focus
your effort on those that can make the most difference. Don’t try to do
too much and spread yourself too thin. Instead, apply the 80-20 rule
and focus on the important ones. Later, when you’ve successfully
applied them, you can work on the runescape accounts other ideas.

Lady Antebellum was the big winner at runescape gold the Grammys with five awards, including record and song of the year for the band's yearning crossover ballad "Need You Now," but rockers Arcade Fire won Sunday's biggest prize, album of the year, for their highly acclaimed "The Suburbs." Arcade Fire's Win Butler was visibly stunned as the group accepted their trophy and then quickly rushed to perform the last song of the night. Eminem perhaps had reason to be stunned as well. Though nominated for a leading 10 awards, including record, song, and album of the year, he took home just two — both in the rap categories, for best album and solo performance. It was the third time Eminem lost in the category, despite a critically acclaimed work that marked his resurgence after time out of the spotlight, a few sub-par projects and successful recovery from a prescription drug addiction. While Arcade Fire's win was a surprise, it wasn't totally unexpected, as "The Suburbs" dominated many critic's best-of lists of 2010. The true upset, however, came as Esperanza Spalding — a jazz bassist and singer who sold a fraction of Justin Bieber's music and is perhaps best identified by her voluminous Afro — beat the perfectly coifed 16-year-old pop phenomenon, and also Florence & the Machine, Mumford & Sons and Drake for best new artist. She is the first jazz artist to ever win the category. "I take this honor to heart so sincerely and I'll do my damnedest to make great runescape money music for all of you. It's such an honor and God bless," said a shocked Spalding, who released her third album, "The Chamber Music Society," last year. While Bieber-nation was in an uproar, the teen sensation himself was cheerful backstage after the loss — perhaps assuaged by the fact that he's sold millions and owns the nation's No. 2 movie with his documentary "Never Say Never." "I'm really happy for her and I had a great night. We performed, I got to perform with my mentor which is amazing," said Bieber, who playfully jumped on Usher in the press room. "I'm really happy for her and hopefully she has a good year." The evening's other top winners included Jay-Z, John Legend, and Lady Gaga, who each had three trophies; Muse, who won best rock album; and Train, whose "Hey, Soul Sister (Live)," one of the year's top songs, captured best pop performance by a duo or group with vocals. Lady Antebellum's wins mark the second straight year a country crossover act was the night's top story; Last year, Taylor Swift captured best album among her wins. The Grammys give out 109 awards — but most of those are doled out before the live telecast in a ceremony before the CBS show. Instead of focusing on the runescape accounts awards, the Grammy show emphasized performances for the year's most celebrated artists, along with emerging acts and true legends. Lady Gaga entered the Staples Center, where the Grammys were held, in dramatic fashion, encased in an egg as dancers carried her to the stage. When she "hatched," she seemed to have turned into Madonna, circa 1987, as she sashayed across the stage to her new song "Born This Way." But the singer, normally the most outrageous performer on any bill, was out-Gaga'd by Cee Lo Green, Gwyneth Paltrow and Jim Henson Co.'s puppets, who gave a hilarious performance of "Forget You" that would have done Elton John proud. Decked out in feathers of seemingly every hue, Green — who was nominated for record and song of the year for the dirty version of the song, "(Expletive) You," crooned alongside a sassy gaggle of puppets and Paltrow, who performed "Forget You" on the Fox TV show "Glee." The actress, who recently played a singer in the movie "Country Song" and is slated to sing on the Oscars telecast, perhaps should seriously consider joining hubby Chris Martin of Coldplay as a regular recording artist. It was easily the show stopper in a night of performances that included a tribute to Aretha Franklin, a retro performance from Bruno Mars, a dazzling number by newcomer Janelle Monae that was James Brown-esque, a collaboration with Mumford & Sons, the Avett Brothers and a very ffxiv power leveling raspy Bob Dylan. | | Posted by amberchen at 9:20 PM - | |

Eminem’s “Recovery” led the U.S. pop album mesos chart for a fourth week on Wednesday, thanks to his latest hit single.
The album sold 195,000 copies during the week ended July 18, taking its
total to 1.5 million. He becomes the first artist to log a four-week
stretch at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 since Susan Boyle began a
six-week stint in November.
No doubt “Recovery’s” continued success is aided by its hit single
“Love The Way You Lie” (featuring Rihanna), which will take the No. 1
spot when the Hot 100 is published Thursday.
It will mark the first back-to-back Hot 100 chart-toppers of his
career. The album’s first single, “Not Afraid,” went to No. 1 in May.
In all, Eminem has topped the Hot 100 four times.
The highest debut on the Billboard 200 — and first of six entries in
the top 10 — came from Korn’s “Korn III – Remember Who You Are,” which
started at No. 2 with 63,000. The rock band’s last album, 2007’s
“Untitled,” debuted and peaked at No. 2 with 123,000 sold in its first

Newsboys notched its wow gold
best showing on the Billboard 200 as “Born Again” bowed at No. 4 with
45,000 — the Christian act’s highest sales week since SoundScan began
tracking data in 1991. The act has never risen higher than No. 28 with
“In the Hands of Good” in 2009.
Pop veteran Sting debuted at No. 6 with “Symphonicities,” an album’s
worth of Sting and Police songs classically reinvented by noted
composers and performed with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra.
The set sold 36,000 copies.
Country newcomer Jerrod Niemann came in at No. 7 with “Judge Jerrod
& the Hung Jury,” selling 34,000 in its opening week. The album was
sale-tagged for less than $7 at both Best Buy and Wal-Mart.
Rock super group Hellyeah charged in at No. 8 after selling 28,000 copies buy wow gold
of its second album “Stampede.” The act consists of Chad Gray and Greg
Tribbett (both of Mudvayne), Vinnie Paul (Pantera), Tom Maxwell (Knives
Out! and Nothingface) and Bob Zilla (Damageplan).
The final arrival in the top 10 came from M.I.A.’s “Maya,” starting at
No. 9 with 28,000. Her last set, 2007’s “Kala,” started at No. 18 with
29,000 copies.
As for the rest of the top 10, Drake’s “Thank Me Later” slipped one to
No. 3 (50,000), Justin Bieber’s “My World 2.0″ held at No. 5 (41,000)
and the soundtrack to “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” slid six to No. 10
(28,000).
Overall album sales totaled 5.21 million units, down less than 1%
compared to the previous week, and down 23% compared to the comparable
sales week of 2009. Year to date album sales stand at 164.4 million,
down 12% compared to the same cheap wow gold total at this point last year.

Most career advice you receive focuses mesos
on the big picture: how to get ahead, how to “win,” and such things
that are on a much larger scale than the daily grind that most of us
face. In fact, it is that day to day grind that pulls down many of us –
we go to work, come home exhausted, and often feel as though we’re just
spinning our wheels. If you want to get ahead in your career and in
your life, you need to start small and look at the immediate things you
can do to help out your situation. If you’re sitting out there at your
desk, tiredly wondering if there’s something better that you can be
doing with your life, start with these fifteen tips that you can start
executing immediately that will lead you down a path towards a better
career. Make a list of all of the things you did today/this week/this month to help your organization, and file them away. Whenever
you have a few spare moments, make a list of all of the things you are
actually doing at work. Date them and provide specific examples. When
you’ve made this list, drop it in a folder and let it sit there until
your next performance review – or the next time you ask for a raise or
a promotion. I do this regularly, which has allowed me to build up
extensive positive documentation about my career. Send a thank-you note If
you’ve recently been assisted in your career or personal development by
someone, spend a few moments and send that person a handwritten thank
you note. The respect, kindness, and personal touch of a handwritten
thank you creates an indelible positive mark in your favor in the
recipient’s mind, which can do nothing but help you out in the long run. Work on your writing skills For
me, The Simple Dollar is actually an active part of improving my own
writing. Starting a blog related to a work-related topic that interests
you is a good way to practice your skills. Don’t be lazy with it,
though; focus on writing strong material that will engage others,
because without it, you’re not really improving your skills at all,
merely regurgitating facts. Design some classy business cards for you I
have a small pile of business cards that are just for me (actually,
they’re for The Simple Dollar), not for any firm I represent or work
for or anything else. I drop these regularly, as envelope enclosures
and in face-to-face opportunities. These cards are a reflection of me
and what I wish to wow gold
represent
to people, and by getting quality ones, I create a positive impression
on the recipients. Don’t go for the office store perforated ones,
either; get them professionally done and in a high quality. Send a quick contact email Got
any professional contacts that you haven’t touched base with recently?
Send them an email letting them know what you’re up to – and ask them
what they’re up to. By this, I don’t mean clients – I mean professional
acquaintances in the same field as you (contacting clients should be a
regular part of your workflow). A quick email to the people you met at
conferences last year can be a very good thing, as you never know if
they might have a great opportunity available that could really help
you out. Suggest a solution to a persistent workplace problem This
is especially true for smaller things, not necessarily big
enterprise-wide issues. Are people always complaining about the
printers? Spec out an additional printer and ship a proposal for a new
printer by your boss. Workplace tensions between two people? Figure out
how to most discreetly move them far apart from each other, write it
up, and ship it off. The key is to make the solution as complete as
possible, so that the boss can tell you saw a problem, looked into how
to solve it, and came up with a solution on your own. Pick up the phone and make a call Keep
in touch with what’s going on in the organization as a whole so you can
be more informed when meetings occur. Pick up the phone and give
someone else a call to see what you can learn, or take a stroll through
different parts of the workplace to find out what others are up to.
Don’t make a nuisance of yourself, but be aware of what is going on,
how it can affect you, and how you might be able to leverage that to
get ahead. Work on your language skills Are you a non-native
speaker of the language in your workplace? Spend your spare time
working on the finer points. I find that listening to audiobooks and
podcasts is an incredible way to pick up on the nuances of a language
given that you already know the basics. If you don’t know the basics,
seek out some audio courses on that language buy wow gold
and
get started. For myself, I’ve found that a great way to pick up a
foreign language is to read a translation of a work I’m already very
familiar with, such as Harry Potter. Make yourself more presentable It
always helps to have a clean, fresh impression. I keep a few hygiene
products in my traveling bag at all times: underarm deodorant,
toothpaste, a toothbrush, some mouthwash, some facial cleanser, a comb,
and some cologne. I make sure to clean myself up at least once a day,
and often twice a day, when I have a few free moments. That way, I look
freshly scrubbed at the 3:30 PM meeting – and having just washed my
face vigorously, I feel more awake. Polish your resume There’s
never a bad time to give your resume a bit of a touch up. Make sure it
has plenty of action words and documents specific results that you’ve
produced. In fact, your personal work documentation is a great way to
look for ideas to spiff up your resume. Read something on topics you plan to be facing in the future in your career Don’t
waste your time reading PerezHilton (unless you work for People
magazine or something); instead, find resources that are related to
your job and focus on those. If you spend your spare time at work
browsing the web, at least spend that time browsing items that can
potentially further your career. Prepare some comments in advance for your next meeting Got
a meeting later? Instead of dreading it, look at it as an opportunity
to shine. Look at what the meeting agenda is and prepare some notes and
thoughts that you can present during them. If you’re going to sit
through someone’s presentation, find out what it’s going to be about
and do some preparatory legwork in advance so you can ask a few astute
questions. Work on your public speaking skills This seems like it
would be difficult to do right now, but it’s not. Merely listen to the
work of great public speakers on the internet, burn yourself a CD or
two of speeches that really inspire you, then play them in your car on
the way home and practice speaking along with them. You’ll learn a
great deal about how to enunciate words to get your points across and
influence others. Clean your work area Not only will this create
a better impression of you in the eyes of others, you may also come
across important materials that you thought were missing or lost. It’s
also good to start (or enhance) a document filing system when you do
this, so you can quickly find materials. Figure out where you want to be in five years – and create a plan for getting there Spend
some time visualizing where you want to be, then think about what it’s
going to take to get there. From there, keep breaking down each piece
in the process until the pieces are things you can do quickly – and
start doing them. Every mountain climb is cheap wow gold
just a series of steps, after all.
